About Us

Avril Kerr bought Westland’s and changed the service to a Housing Support service for Adults with Learning Disabilities. Avril’s vision was to provide a high level of support, with a family feel in which she knew would make all who lived at Westland’s feel comfortable, safe and have a place to call home. 

Avril created the vision by living onsite with her own family and hoped to pass on the love and care to those who choose to call Westland’s their home. With no existing experience of running a Supported Accommodation or working within the care sector Avril has managed to turn Westland’s into a highly regarded Supported Accommodation in Dundee for over the last 15 years. 

The family run care business extended it premises with the addition of an annex building, providing a further 5 rooms to allow other to enjoy the support from the Westland’s team.

The family feel has continued with Avril’s son Rhys now manager of the service working alongside his mother to continue her vision of providing a high level of support to those who live at Westland’s. Some of the existing residents have live in Westlands for over the last 15 years and have play a vital role in making Westland’s what it is today.
